What to wear - Peta's style guide.

Let's take the stress out of "what do I even wear?!"

This guide is here to help you feel comfy, confident & totally camera ready. No need to panic-scroll Pinterest the night before... I've taken the guesswork out of it all. Whether you're dressing a growing bump, wrangling a wild toddler, or coordinating outfits for the whole family, I've got you covered. Think of this as your go-to cheat sheet for looking & feeling your best without losing your mind. Let's make styling simple, beautiful & you.

Colour Palette - Light, airy & timeless.

Stick to soft, neutral tones that reflect the warm, dreamy aesthetic of your session.

Recommended tones:

  • Ivory - Cream - Oat - Beige
  • Sage - Olive - Dusty green
  • Blush - Rose - Rust - Terracotta
  • Soft Blue - Misty mauve - Pale Denim
  • Taupe - Stone - Camel

Maternity Session

Mama to be:

Flowy dresses are the vibe - something that moves in the breeze & makes you feel like goddess (even if you feel like a hot potato inside).

Off-shoulder, wrap styles or anything that shows of the bump is PERFECT! If it's cool, add a cardigan or a knit. Barefoot on the beach? Always a yes.

Partner:

Keep it chill with a linen shirt, neutral tee, chinos or jeans. Nothing loud, branded - let the focus be on the mama to be.

Optional but cute:

Flower crowns, hats, light throw blanket for sitting or something that makes you feel like you.

Newborn Sessions

Little Bebe:

Simple is best - plain onesies, soft wraps or neutral muslin you love. No need for shoes, no frills or scratchy bits.

Mama, Papa (& older siblings):

Keep it soft & neutral. Think comfort over fashion. You'll be cuddling a lot so pick outfits that let you move & snuggle easily

What to bring:

  • A dummy or a little comfort item. If you have a little white noise machine they love, have that on hand!
  • A neutral swaddle or blanket
  • Extra clothes (because accidents happen - it's a little bubba)

Family Sessions

The aim? Coordinate, don't clone. Pick 3-4 colours that work together & spread them out across everyone's outfit.

Top tips:

  • Start with one outfit you love (usually mums), then build from there.
  • Layers, textures and soft fabrics always photograph beautifully
  • Keep the shoes neutral - or go barefoot if that suits the vibe & you
  • Bring a toy or snack for the kids.

Extra nice-to-haves:

  • Plain blanket to sit on
  • Something to hold in case little hands need distracting.

DO:

  • Wear colours that feel soft & earthy
  • Go for comfort & movement
  • Let your personality shine
  • Relax - I've got you!!

DON'T:

  • Stress over perfection
  • Worry about matching too much
  • Bring neon, logos or activewear
